Paul Tepfenhart is responsible for shaping Google Cloud’s global retail strategy, helping retailers unlock the power of the cloud, data and AI to drive value and improve customer experiences.  Paul’s extensive experience in retail has primarily focused on omnichannel commerce, operations, and innovation. Prior to Google, Paul was at H-E-B, a $40B Grocery Retailer, where he served as the SVP of Omnichannel Retail and Emerging Technology. During his eight year tenure at HEB, Paul built the grocer’s digital business from inception to a multi-billion dollar franchise and created the H-E-B Retail Innovation Lab to incubate the store of the future technologies and work with partners to transform operations and commerce. Paul’s teams were responsible for leading H-E-B/Central Market into the digital commerce age and for building the company’s portfolio of digital solutions across all customer and employee interactions. Paul also previously served as Sr. Director of Multichannel Retail at Walmart where his teams were responsible for the pilot and expansion of many programs we all use today such as home delivery and curbside, alternate pickup, and pickup today. Paul began his Journey at Procter and Gamble in Brand Management leading brands including Folgers, Pringles, and Sunny Delight.
